During Advent, a tree
decorated with gift tags that provide ideas of items to purchase for the
less fortunate of
our community. The tree needs to be maintained and the overflow of
gifts may need rearranging. Gifts are delivered to area food
Pantries, The Crisis Center, and The Mental Health Center. |

Holiday Food Baskets

Volunteers deliver food
baskets at Thanksgiving and Christmas to those who are going through
a difficult time. Baskets are prepared with food donated for this
purpose. |

Hospital to the homebound
four times a year. Partners go out one day a week at lunchtime. |

Public Action to Deliver Shelter is a
community organization providing
shelter to the homeless
from October through April. Parishioners staff the first and third
Fridays of the month from 6:30-8:30 PM and 5-7 AM. |

go out in pairs to the homes of those in need, striving to comfort,
feed, clothe and find shelter for them. The spiritual growth
of the members is promoted through Scripture reading, meditation,
and prayer. |

Soup Kettle

Each month St. Thomas More works at an
Elgin church helping to
provide
a hot meal to those in need. The Soup Kettle needs volunteers who will
work from 4:00pm to 7:00pm once a month and assist in the set-up, food
preparation, and clean up of this meal. Those willing to donate
desserts are welcome.
