The adult choir is the principal choir of St. Thomas More and heart and soul of the music ministry, singing every Sunday, usually at the 10 a.m. Mass, from after Labor Day until Corpus Christi. Practice is usually on Thursday evenings at 7 p.m.
We sing a variety of music from Renaissance polyphony to contemporary anthems. It's challenging, but it's fun! For information on how to join, simply scroll down!
The Resurrection choir sings for funerals at St. Thomas More. It is open to anyone in the parish who would like to join.
This choir is a ministry of presence. Not only do we grace the families with our music, but we also represent the parish in giving consolation to the grieving. Indeed, this ministry is one of the most meaningful in music.
We can always use more members in our Resurrection choir! Please scroll down and fill out the form below. We contact the funeral choir anytime a funeral is scheduled (usually, 5-7 days ahead of the funeral). Members usually attend as their availability allows and practice in the hour before Mass begins.
The STM handbell choir plays several times a year, bringing a bright, shining touch to special Masses, including Midnight Christmas Mass and Easter Sunday. It's a fun way for both polished and inexperienced musicians (or non-musicians!) to contribute to music ministry.
The cantor/psalmist is a key role in music ministry, leading the singing of music when a choir is not present and proclaiming the word of God in the Responsorial psalm. This ministry requires a confident singer with a strong voice and a joyful disposition.
Cantors sing roughly twice a month. An audition is required to become a cantor; all music will be provided. To sign up, fill out the form below.
The STM Ensemble is a rotating small group of musicians who sing for occasional special Masses. Singers must be able to learn and carry a part by themselves.
The music can be a bit more challenging, but it's amply rewarding to pull off.
The St. Thomas More Youth Choir is a great way for students in grades 3-8 to get more involved with their Catholic faith, learn the basics of singing, make friends and have fun!
Practices: Wednesdays during the school year, 4:15 p.m. until 5:15 p.m., in church building’s Lancaster room
