Remembrance Mass
St Thomas More would like to invite all to a special Mass that will be celebrated Monday, September 16, at 7pm, to remember and celebrate the lives of all our children that have been lost to abortion,
miscarriage, still birth, infant death, or death of a child at any age. During the Mass, we will provide flowers for family members to offer in remembrance of the loss of their child(ren). We would like to make sure we have enough flowers, so we ask for an RSVP, so we can be prepared.
After the Mass, we will offer a light reception in the Chelsea Room, for any that wish to stay. This Mass is open to all, please share with family and friends who may also like to participate.
Register HERE or call the church office to RSVP 847.888.1682.
Join Us For The Rosary
St Thomas More Respect Life Ministry will be offering a special Rosary for all that have been affected by suicide. This Rosary will take place on Monday evening, September 30, 7pm, in the church.
We will have candles available, for anyone to light, prior to the start of the Rosary, so that we can have a visual reminder of the prayers we are offering.
Please join us and invite anyone that is interested to come as well.
Rosaries will be available if needed.
Pray The Rosary For All Affected By Suicide
While we hold that all life is sacred, we are also all-too aware that psychological, emotional and even physical illness — as well as extreme anxiety, fear, and abuse — can lead individuals to take their own lives. Speaking to this, the United States Catholic Catechism for Adults reflects, “Although suicide is always objectively sinful, one should not despair of the eternal salvation of persons who have taken their own lives. By ways known to him alone, God can provide the opportunity for salutary repentance. The Church prays for persons who have taken their own lives” (pg. 294). The text also states the reality of illness or other extreme influences can “diminish the responsibility of one committing suicide” (pg. 293).
Parishes and grief support groups should show special care and concern for those families that have lost a loved one to suicide. And, communities should always try to be mindful of those who might be at risk of suicide or self-harm. ©LPi
Please pray for all those affected by suicide.
Rosebud Ministry
The Rosebud Program helps a church identify, pray for, and support those who are pregnant, celebrating birth or adoption, grieving miscarriage, stillbirth, abortion, infant or child death, and waiting to become pregnant or adopt. Prayers for grandparent concerns, and troubled times are also included.
Prayer cards and prayer intentions cards are available at our Rosebud Ministry table in our Gathering Space. Take the prayer you need and write your special intention on the coordinating prayer intention card. Place the intention in the prayer intention box.
Each Monday night at 7:00PM the intentions will be brought into church and will be offered during a Rosary for all life. All are welcome to come and pray.
Prayer intentions will also be shared each week with our Flocknote Prayer Warriors Group. If you would like to pray for these special intentions you can join our Pray Warriors .
